Feffe Bussi Reveals How He Avoids Disputes Over Royalties
As Cindy Sanyu and Omega 256 continue to disagree over royalties from their hit collaboration “See You Tonight,” rapper Feffe Bussi believes artistes can prevent many of those disputes from the start.
On Daily Soup, Feffe Bussi revealed that whenever he works with other artistes, he prefers to finance the entire project himself rather than share production costs.
That approach, he says, eliminates confusion once a song begins generating income.
Using “Nze Alina” as an example, the rapper explained that he covered all the expenses despite the song featuring multiple artistes.

If I do a song with someone, I make sure that I foot all the bills. I will give the example of a song like ‘Nze Alina.’ It features five artistes, but I made sure that I paid for the video, the audio, and even the wardrobe for anyone who needed it for the video.
Because he financed the project, nobody disputes who should receive the royalties.
When the time comes to release the song, there are no quarrels about who contributed what. That means I enjoy all the royalties without anyone complaining because they know I financed the entire project.
Feffe Bussi advised artistes to fully finance collaborative projects whenever possible, arguing that doing so gives them clear ownership and helps prevent misunderstandings later on.
He also suggested an alternative arrangement for artistes who struggle with ownership and revenue sharing.
Instead of getting into quarrels over splits, two artistes can even choose to do two separate projects so that each person fully owns one.
