D Star Seeks UGX 30M Compensation From Mudra Over ‘Hoozambe’ Remix Dispute

D Star has escalated his dispute with Mudra D Viral, turning what started as collaboration into a public dispute that is drawing attention across Uganda’s music scene.

The rising singer, who gained recognition with his viral “Hoozambe” freestyle, says his remix picked up momentum on its own and reached millions of views.

He claims Mudra later uploaded the same remix to his YouTube channel without a clear agreement.

Speaking during an interview on Sanyuka Uncut, D Star described the situation as frustrating and said the move affected both his visibility and earnings after Mudra later deleted the video.

Mudra is a bad person. He took my remix after it had already worked and posted it on his channel. That alone was wrong, but what hurt more is that he later deleted it like it meant nothing.

He also questioned Mudra’s public image, suggesting there is more behind the scenes than fans see.

People do not know Mudra. They see the hits, they see the fame, but time will tell the kind of person he really is.

D Star now demands UGX 30 million in compensation and says the issue goes beyond personal loss to include people who supported his journey.

I want that money, and I will share it. 10 million to my mother, 10 million to my manager, and I take 10 million. These are people who have stood with me from day one.

The claims have sparked mixed reactions online, with some backing D Star for speaking out while others question the full picture.

Mudra has not responded publicly, and fans continue to wait for his side of the story.
