Did the Chris Brown Dream in Uganda Die Before It Even Began?

Hold onto your designer sunglasses, Uganda! The streets and DJ Spinny’s X feed have been buzzing with one name: Chris Brown.

But before you start boycotting your favorite brunch spot to save up for a front row seat, we have some tea that might taste a little bitter.

Word on the street says Breezy’s team is not even opening emails below $2 million USD. That is roughly UGX7.5 billion.

Just to put that into perspective, that kind of money could secure five penthouses in Kololo. You would still have enough left over for a fleet of Subarus.

Promoters are already feeling the heat. We love to brag about our “expensive” nightlife, but $2 million is still a tall order, even for the deepest pockets in Kololo.

Now, let us be honest: Ugandans can spend. We see how you all dirty those tables in Bandali and pack out those Sunday brunches. The vibe is there, and the vanity is not lacking.

But here is the catch: we are demanding a Chris Brown stadium show, yet we have not even managed to bring Burna Boy for a proper headline concert.

We want the main course before we finish our starters. Is it ambition, or are we just “delulu”?

Kampala, are we really ready to pay UGX1 million for an “Ordinary” ticket, or should DJ Spinny focus on bringing Burna Boy first?
