Fik Fameica Talks East African Success After Mejja Collaboration

Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica and Kenyan artiste Mejja are making waves with their collaboration “Siaka,” a standout track off Mejja’s debut album Mtoto wa Khadija.

Released in March 2026, the song mixes Kenyan Genge energy with Ugandan rap, giving fans across East Africa a blend of both styles.

While appearing on Rewind, Fik Fameica revealed that the collaboration started after Mejja personally reached out to him to jump on the track.

I am one of the best artistes in Uganda, if not the best. Mejja is my friend from Kenya and one of the biggest artistes there. He reached out to me to jump on his song and sent it to me. That is how we connected. It is his song, so it is on his channels.

He added that working with Mejja felt effortless because their styles naturally connect, something he believes could lead to more collaborations in future.

Another thing is that Mejja sings a style that matches mine, so me and him still have to do more songs because the vibe matches.

Fik Fameica also spoke about the growth of his music beyond Uganda, saying he has built a strong fanbase across East Africa.

Kenya and Uganda are like brother and sister. Music from Kenya hits in Uganda and vice versa. I have made it internationally in East Africa. My music has reached Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, so I have friends across East Africa.

With the chemistry between the two artistes already clear on Siaka, fans may not have heard the last collaboration from the pair just yet.
