Ugandan Singer Master Parrot Dies in Road Accident

Firebase Crew legend Master Parrot has died after a motorcycle reportedly knocked him down while crossing the Northern Bypass in the Masanafu area on Monday night.

Born David Sifayo, the 47-year-old singer was among the notable figures in Uganda’s early 2000s dancehall movement and a member of the Firebase Crew led by Bobi Wine.

Master Parrot rose to prominence through songs such as “Muliro” and “Ekikompola,” earning a loyal following with his energetic style during the growth of Kampala’s urban music scene.

News of his death quickly spread across the entertainment industry, with fellow artistes and fans mourning the loss of a musician whose work helped shape Uganda’s dancehall sound.

Master Parrot’s passing marks the loss of one of the artistes who contributed to a defining era in the country’s music industry.
