Just got the terrible news that we have lost our brother Master Parrot. Old funny conversations, careless hearty laughters are the painful memories you live with us my friend. Until we meet again.
Master Parrot, born David Sifaayo, reportedly died after a motorcycle knocked him down while crossing the Northern Bypass in the Masanafu area on the night of June 1.
The two artistes shared a friendship that stretched back decades and were among the musicians who helped shape Kampala’s urban music movement.
They began their musical journeys together in the late 1990s and later became key figures in the rise of Firebase Crew, one of Uganda’s most influential music groups.
Master Parrot earned recognition through songs such as “Muliro” and “Ekikompola,” establishing himself as one of the notable voices in Uganda’s dancehall scene.
His death marks the loss of an artiste who played a significant role in shaping Uganda’s ragga-dancehall scene.
