Joshua Baraka Reportedly Parts Ways With Manager Lobstar

Joshua Baraka appears to be making a major move behind the scenes, as reports suggest he has parted ways with Lobstar and DJ Ssese, the team that helped shape his rise.

Presenters on NRG Radio Uganda sparked the conversation after revealing that booking inquiries now go to a new contact.

They said both Lobstar and DJ Ssese redirected them, pointing instead to a man named Richard, who reportedly manages Baraka’s girlfriend, Etania Mutoni.

Baraka has not addressed the reports, and that silence has only intensified speculation, especially given his current position.

He continues to grow from a Kampala vocalist into one of East Africa’s most streamed young acts, with over 1.7 million monthly Spotify listeners and multiple international collaborations.

At this level, industry watchers see a move like this as significant.

As his brand expands beyond Uganda, every booking, endorsement, media appearance, and international show demands tighter control. Some believe he is restructuring for a global push, while others suspect internal changes that remain private.

That uncertainty has only deepened as Baraka prepares for shows abroad, including a Canada tour. At the same time, some promotional materials still feature his former handlers, suggesting the switch happened very recently.

Lobstar and DJ Ssese played a visible role in his growth, especially during the success of “Nana,” “Lonely,” and “Wrong Places.”

Their silence, just like Baraka’s, continues to fuel the conversation.

For now, no one from his camp has confirmed anything. But something is clearly shifting around Joshua Baraka, and the industry is watching closely.
