Kafeero DNA Drama Deepens as Alleged Children Cross 40 Mark
The number of people claiming to be children of late Kadongo Kamu legend Paulo Kafeero has reportedly surpassed 40, turning the ongoing DNA verification exercise into a major family affair.
Family members say they did not anticipate such a large turnout when the process began.
More than 25 alleged children reportedly presented themselves for testing on the first day alone, with additional claimants continuing to come forward in the days that followed.
We were shocked by the numbers. On the first day we thought the exercise would involve only a few people, but the list keeps growing every hour. As a family, we hope the DNA results will finally give us the truth and bring this matter to an end.
For years, questions surrounding Kafeero’s biological children have fueled disagreements among family members, with different individuals claiming a connection to the celebrated musician.
In a bid to settle the matter once and for all, a team of state forensic pathologists, led by Assistant Inspector General of Police Dr. Moses Byaruhanga, exhumed Kafeero’s remains on June 1, 2026, to obtain samples for DNA testing.
Since then, more people have come forward hoping to confirm whether they are biologically related to the late singer.
With additional claimants still emerging, the final number remains uncertain.
