Date Set for Paul Kafeero DNA Results as 19-Year Saga Nears End
After months of anticipation, the wait for answers in the Paul Job Kafeero paternity saga is almost over.
Minister of Local Government of Uganda Balaam Barugahara has announced that officials will release DNA findings involving more than 25 people claiming to be children of the late Kadongo Kamu legend on June 25.
The findings could help resolve one of the most closely followed family disputes in Uganda’s music history, nearly two decades after Kafeero’s death.
According to Balaam, officials from the Uganda Police Force Forensic Laboratory and the Government Analytical Laboratory will officially unveil and read the findings at Police Headquarters in Naguru.
The event will bring together forensic experts, government analysts, family members, clan leaders, and the individuals who participated in the DNA exercise.

On Thursday, 25th June 2026, at 11:00 am, I will join the Police Forensic Laboratory team together with the Government Analytical Laboratory team at Police Headquarters to witness the official release and reading of the DNA findings concerning over 25 young people and the late Paul Kafeero.
Balaam said the claimants’ mothers, relatives, clan leaders, and selected friends of the late singer will also attend the event.
The findings will be presented in the presence of members of the press, the children, their mothers, uncles, clan leader, relatives and a few close friends of the late Paul Kafeero who will be invited directly by phone.
He also urged members of the public who cannot attend in person to follow the proceedings on television.
The rest of the public is encouraged to follow the proceedings live on television, as the event will be broadcast live.
The DNA exercise follows years of claims and counterclaims surrounding Kafeero’s family lineage and estate following his death in 2007.
With the results now ready for release, Balaam praised the forensic teams that handled the process and expressed hope that the findings will finally provide long-awaited answers.
I extend my sincere appreciation to Director Andrew K. Mubiru and his team of Police Forensic Experts for their dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts in bringing closure to this 19-year family dispute.
