AgaNaga Moves Nassanga Festival to August 1, Citing Demand From Fans
A few months ago, a Nassanga Festival Mukibira did not exist.
Today, it is one of Kalifa AgaNaga‘s biggest priorities.
The dramatic shift came after TikTok users breathed new life into Nassanga, turning an 8-year-old song into one of the platform’s most popular Ugandan throwbacks.
The revival gathered so much momentum that AgaNaga decided the song deserved a celebration of its own.
That decision led to the creation of the Nassanga Festival.
As interest continued to grow, the singer moved the event from August 29 to August 1 to take advantage of the moment.

We changed the date because the fans were demanding it, saying the festival was too far away and they could not wait. They asked me to bring the festival closer while the song is still trending.
While many fans see the comeback as a social media success story, AgaNaga believes the roots of the revival go much deeper.
He argues that songs only return years later when they possess something special.
I am happy that TikTokers have brought back Nassanga. Good music stays for ages, while vulgar music cannot stay.
He also admitted that he once felt pressure to create vulgar music because it was what was trending but resisted.

There was a time when artistes were singing vulgar music and it was working for them. I also once wanted to do the same, but my heart said no. So, this has really re-energised me and other musicians who make good music. Never lose hope. One day, that song you do not rate or give time will shine.
Now, as preparations for the festival continue, AgaNaga sees Nassanga’s comeback as confirmation that the song was built to outlive trends.
Still, one question remains.
Why now?
That is something even he struggles to answer.
I cannot even explain why this song is back, but I believe it is God who made it happen.
The comeback of my song Nasanga gave me the confidence and motivation to stage a concert, and I believe this is the right time to do it.- Khalifah Aganaga#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/6gTti2Tixl
