Peter Miles Reveals What It Would Take For Him To Hold A Concert

It has been years since Peter Miles last staged a major concert in Uganda, and he has no intention of rushing back onto the big stage unless everything feels perfect.

While appearing on Sanyuka Uncut, the reggae and dancehall artiste opened up about the level of preparation he personally demands before organizing a concert.

Unlike musicians who leave most of the planning to promoters, Peter Miles says he prefers handling every detail surrounding his live performances himself.

I do not do half baked things. If I am to hold a concert, it will not be a situation where someone else organizes it for me. I have to be at the center of it. You will find that I may even need a whole year for rehearsals.

He also explained that the production side matters just as much to him.

I made the beats myself, so I know the exact instruments I selected during production, and those are the same instruments I want for the live performance.

Peter Miles previously staged shows in Uganda, including his 2007 Ragga Dancehall Concert at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds and the 2014 Frontline Concert in Gulu alongside longtime collaborator Menshan.

Still, years later, fans continue waiting for another full scale concert from one of Uganda’s most recognizable reggae and dancehall voices.
