Police Hunt Driver Behind Hit-and-Run That Killed Master Parrot
Police have launched investigations into the hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of veteran Ugandan musician Master Parrot.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the singer, born David Sifaayo, was knocked by a speeding vehicle at around 7:30 PM along the Northern Bypass in Masanafu.
The driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the crash.
Master Parrot was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police say efforts are now underway to identify both the vehicle and the driver responsible.
The driver fled to an unknown destination after the accident. We have not yet obtained details of the vehicle involved, but investigations are ongoing and we are reviewing CCTV footage to identify both the car and driver.

The late singer was among the pioneers of Uganda’s dancehall movement and a founding member of Firebase Crew.
He rose to prominence through songs such as “Muliro,” “Ekikompola,” “Mama Wabana,” and “Kawal.”
Meanwhile, family members revealed that they only learned of the tragedy after police officers answered his phone following the accident.
His body was later transferred from Mulago National Referral Hospital to his residence in Kiwatule ahead of burial arrangements.
