Ray G Blames Poor Production and Lack of Creativity for Music Industry Stagnation
Singer Muhairwe Reagan, popularly known as Ray G, has expressed concern about the current state of Uganda’s music industry, arguing that the sector has failed to make meaningful progress in recent years.
Speaking on NBS After 5, Ray G said the industry is neither moving backwards nor advancing in a way that positions it for greater success.

We are at a standstill. We are not moving backwards, but we are not moving forward either.
The “Amarari” star attributes the stagnation to poor production standards, limited creativity, and a lack of respect for music as an art form.
He believes artistes and industry stakeholders need to place greater emphasis on quality, noting that strong music begins with a solid foundation.

We need to invest more time in production, creativity, and quality. Great music starts with a strong foundation, just like constructing a building. If the foundation is weak, everything else suffers.
Ray G also urged artistes and investors to adopt a long-term approach by reinvesting in music instead of focusing solely on immediate financial gains.
