Teng Teng Claims Former Manager Took Control Of His Accounts

Teng Teng says he can no longer access his social media accounts after falling out with his former manager, Michael Kabonge, as a growing dispute over ownership and earnings continues unfolding publicly.

Speaking alongside his father in an interview, the young internet star claimed Kabonge took control of several accounts, including his YouTube channel, which reportedly has more than 4.2 million subscribers and over 1.6 billion views.

According to the family, the earnings they received from the platforms did not reflect Teng Teng’s massive online popularity.

His father claimed that payments from the YouTube channel sometimes came in below USD 200, while one declaration allegedly showed only around USD 100 despite the channel’s global reach and viral success.

The family says the money barely covered school fees and daily expenses, adding that the young creator still “cannot even afford a bicycle for himself.”

Kabonge reportedly maintains that the accounts belong to him because he created them himself.

Teng Teng’s family, however, argues that the platforms became successful because of the child’s image, personality, and viral comedy content.

The dispute has now sparked wider conversations online about the treatment and possible exploitation of child creators within Uganda’s rapidly growing digital content industry.

Teng Teng rose to international fame through viral dance videos and comedy skits that attracted millions of followers, merchandise deals, and global collaborations.

During a recent African tour, IShowSpeed also collaborated with the young creator, further boosting his international visibility.

The family says lawyers have now stepped in as they attempt to recover the accounts and regain control of Teng Teng’s online platforms.
