Johnny Drille Praises Joshua Baraka, Hints at Collaboration

Nigerian singer-songwriter Johnny Drille has opened up about Joshua Baraka, praising his talent and hinting at a possible collaboration.

Speaking on The Beat, Johnny Drille described himself as a big admirer of the Ugandan singer.

First of all, I am a big fan of Joshua Baraka. We met the last time I was in Uganda. He has brilliant and fantastic music, and I am so excited to see him blow up internationally.

He went on to recall his visit to Uganda in 2023, when he headlined the 30th edition of Blankets and Wine Kampala at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

During that visit, he revealed that plans were in place for a collaboration, but timing got in the way.

I know we were supposed to work on something when I was in Uganda, but time did not allow it because there was so much happening at once.

Despite that missed opportunity, Johnny Drille made it clear that working with Joshua is still something he strongly believes in.

For talents like Joshua, it is a no-brainer for me to make music with them. When people who are truly gifted musically come together, the result is always something special.

With a Joshua Baraka collaboration in sight, he believes it is only a matter of time before he works with a Ugandan artiste for the first time.

I am honestly looking forward to breaking that jinx and eventually making music with a Ugandan very soon.
