Dynaso Wegoso Re-records “Mukube Paver” After UCC Ban

Rising singer Dynaso Wegoso has revealed that he has already re-recorded his banned track “Mukube Paver” after the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) raised concerns about its content.

Authorities pulled the song off air in early April 2026 after they flagged its lyrics and visuals for promoting violence.

They also linked it to dangerous trends and rising paver-related robberies in Kampala.

Now, attention has turned to whether the revised version will be approved.

In a recent chat with Daily Soup, Dynaso detailed his meeting with UCC Executive Director Thembo Nyombi, saying he asked him to redo the song because it came across as encouraging violence.

I went to UCC and Thembo Nyombi told me to redo the song because it is violent. I understood his concerns, and as you know, people understand things differently.

He pushed back on that interpretation, saying he created the song to reflect real-life situations, not to promote harmful behavior.

From the beginning, I made it clear that I did not create the song to promote violence. I created it to reflect what is happening.

However, he admitted his delivery blurred that intention and made the message sound like a command.

I think the way I sang it made it sound like I was commanding people, which was not my intention. I explained this to him, and he understood. He guided me on a better way to deliver the message so that everyone can understand that I am not promoting or commanding violence.

After that guidance, Dynaso reworked the song and now awaits feedback from the commission before it can return to the airwaves.

I have already recorded the new version, and I will first submit it to them for review. After approval, we will hold a press conference at UCC, and then they will notify TV and radio stations to allow the song back on air.

Beyond the creative changes, the meeting also touched on his personal situation, including a financial pledge from Thembo Nyombi that he says remains unfulfilled.

He promised me UGX 5 million but I have not yet received it. I went to UCC with a lawyer, and he handled most of the discussions. That money will help me improve my situation as a young person, especially since music does not always pay.

Even as he waits for approval, Dynaso says he remains focused on his career and will continue releasing music.

My fans should rest assured that I will continue releasing music for them. All they need to do is stay tuned.
