Driver Sentenced After Cocaine Bust Linked To Kim Kardashian’s Skims Brand
A British court has sentenced a lorry driver to 13 and a half years in prison after border officials discovered roughly £7 million worth of cocaine hidden inside a legitimate shipment of Skims clothing linked to Kim Kardashian’s fashion brand.
Authorities said 40 year old Jakub Jan Konkel transported 90 kilograms of cocaine into the UK through Harwich International Port after arriving by ferry from the Netherlands.
Border Force officers later scanned the vehicle and uncovered the drugs concealed inside a specially modified compartment hidden within the trailer doors.
Investigators said the lorry also carried 28 pallets of legitimate Skims clothing.
Konkel reportedly admitted agreeing to transport the cocaine in exchange for a payment of 4,500 euros.
Authorities also stressed that neither Skims nor the companies involved in the clothing shipment had any connection to the smuggling operation.
