Navio Disagrees With A Pass, Says Ugandan Musicians Are Not Mediocre
Ugandan rapper Navio, real name is Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, has responded to singer A Pass’s recent comments, which claim that majority of Ugandan musicians are mediocre and do not dedicate enough time to their craft.
In his response, Navio strongly disagreed, stating that Ugandan artistes are not only talented but also dedicated to their work.
He explained that in any music industry, there are artistes who take time crafting their songs and others, like freestyle artistes, who create music on the spot.

According to Navio, both approaches have value and contribute to the beauty of the art.
He also pointed out that Ugandan musicians have what it takes to compete with Africa’s finest.
Using HipHop as an example, Navio said that Ugandan rappers like BigTril, Tucker HD, or himself can stand their ground against any rapper on the continent.
He concluded by noting, “I would never say that Ugandan musicians are mediocre. Instead, I would say, pick an artiste on the continent, put them against one of our best, and see if they can hold their own.”
