Pia Pounds Reveals How She Decides What Music to Make

Music trends often come and go, and Pia Pounds is not afraid to pay attention to what audiences are enjoying at the moment.

Speaking on KTN, the Ugandan singer, born Tracy Kirabo, said popular styles sometimes inspire the direction she takes in her music.

However, she stressed that her personal feelings also play a role in the songs she creates.

I sing for the people. I do not sing for myself. So I sing what people like to hear. Sometimes a style is on. It is trending, and then sometimes it is like what you feel inside of you. Mostly, I follow that. I follow to make people happy and also to express myself.

For the “Tupaate” hitmaker, making music is about striking a balance between what listeners want and what she wants to say as an artiste.
