Victor Kamenyo Raises Transparency Concerns Over UGX 100 Million Linked to UMA

Rapper Victor Kamenyo has raised questions about an alleged UGX 100 million that the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) reportedly gave to the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) from a larger UGX 5 billion fund for musicians.

According to Kamenyo, UNMF president Eddy Kenzo told him that UMA received UGX 100 million from the fund. However, the rapper says he has failed to get clear answers about the money from leaders within the association.

Kamenyo says the lack of communication surrounding the funds concerns him most.

He revealed that he was surprised to see UMA President Cindy Sanyu and musician Big Eye StarBoss represent the association in discussions that many members allegedly knew nothing about.

The rapper, who serves as UMA’s hip-hop representative, questioned why the association excluded key leaders from meetings and decisions involving the alleged funds.

He further claimed that whenever he asked Cindy and Big Eye about the UGX 100 million, both told him they knew nothing about it.

Kamenyo insists he is not fighting for personal gain but for young artistes who could benefit from the support.

I do not need that money myself because I am doing well, but there are many young artistes in UMA who are struggling and starting their careers. They deserve support.

He argued that UMA should distribute any funds it receives fairly and transparently, especially to upcoming artistes who need support the most.
