Crysto Panda Urges Artistes to Save as Music Earnings Drop
Crysto Panda has urged fellow artistes to take financial discipline seriously, warning that relying only on music is no longer sustainable.
Speaking on NBS After5, the singer said the music industry has changed, with income streams that once supported artistes now shrinking.
Music money is not like before. Things have changed, and artistes need to adjust.
He pointed to low earnings from streaming in Uganda, saying many artistes still depend on live performances, which are now less frequent.
Streaming does not really pay much here, and even stage performances are now few because organizers are heavily taxed and sometimes struggle to put events together.
With that shift, Panda said artistes need to start thinking beyond the spotlight and plan for the future.
He urged especially upcoming musicians to use their peak moments wisely while preparing for slower periods.
When you realize the trends have changed, start something on the side. Open a small business or join saving schemes where you can access bigger money when you need it.
Drawing from his own experience, he said he has built multiple income streams outside music, including a job and side businesses.
I do not only depend on music. I have a job and businesses that support me. If I need like 30 million, I can even get a salary advance and pay it back in installments.
He added that having financial backup allows him to make bold moves, from organizing shows to investing in his brand without relying on unpredictable music income.
Through his message, Crysto Panda stressed that artistes must combine strategy, discipline, and long-term planning to survive in today’s industry.
