Mada Denies Fraud After Arrest in Kapeke Look-Alike Saga
Mada has opened up about his arrest over allegations that he impersonated singer Kapeke and fraudulently collected booking fees from event promoters.
The matter drew public attention after a video surfaced online showing Mada and Kapeke at a police station, where they appeared to discuss the situation and its possible consequences.
Following his release, he narrated his arrest ordeal on Sanyuka Uncut, denying the accusations and insisting he only did karaoke out of admiration for Kapeke, not for money.
About bookings, I was just doing karaoke for the love I had in my heart. I was not even getting paid.
Mada maintained that he never took money from anyone, dismissing claims that he accepted bookings and failed to show up, and challenging anyone with such allegations to provide proof.
Just know, I did not take anyone’s money. If there is anyone out there saying I took money from them, they should come forward and bring evidence.
Despite his firm denial, the situation took another turn as he pointed fingers at Kapeke over his arrest, claiming the singer played a role, although Kapeke has denied any involvement and suggested the complaint may have come from someone who paid for a performance that did not take place.
If he is not the one who had me arrested, then who was it? As I have said, if there is anyone who claims I took money from them, they should come forward with evidence.
With both sides offering different accounts, the circumstances surrounding the arrest remain disputed.
I was doing karaoke purely out of love for something I’m passionate about, and I have never taken money from anyone for bookings. -Mada#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/zkbN7dgOwO
