Martha Smallz to Men: Money Cannot Buy Love, Wake Up From the ‘Great Deception’

Ugandan singer-songwriter and producer Martha Smallz sparked discussion on social media after sharing her thoughts on love, relationships, and the role of financial provision.

The former AirporTaxi member took to TikTok to challenge the notion that financial provision automatically earns a man love, respect, and appreciation.

Society wants you to believe that you will be valued if you provide, but that is not true because many men provide and are still not valued. Is that a lie? Is that not true? And yet there are some men who do not provide anything and are still loved.

At the heart of her message was the belief that many people place too much faith in financial provision and assume it can sustain meaningful relationships on its own.

That is why I tell men to wake up from the great deception: money cannot buy love. No matter how much you provide, they will still not love you. You first have to find love within yourself. When you love yourself and have love for yourself, you can identify it in someone else.

She then shifted to personal boundaries, arguing that many people let others take advantage of them because they struggle to recognise their limits.

The reason most of these good people get taken for a ride is because… It’s like, I understand that you are good, but to what extent?

Martha also challenged men to consider whether the relationships around them would survive a sudden loss of wealth or status.

Most of the time, the majority of men simply do not know what would happen if they lost everything the next day. That wife you think loves you, those children you think respect you, those neighbours you think admire you: they may see you as nothing.

She rounded off her remarks by pointing to men from humble backgrounds who maintain strong family relationships despite having fewer material resources.

There are also men whom society considers to have nothing, men from humble backgrounds, yet they have loyal, loving wives and families. So what is it that they are doing that these rich people have not figured out?

Money may provide comfort and security, but it cannot guarantee genuine love, respect, or loyalty.

Her remarks leave readers with a lingering question: If wealth alone cannot sustain a relationship, what keeps some couples together through every season of life while others fall apart despite having everything money can buy?

@marthasmallz 📌Dear Men, do not be deceived. Your value isn't based on what you provide because many provide but aren't valued at all while others provide nothing and are loved. Bottom line, Love Is not for sale . It is Irredemably unconditional. #advice #love #relationships #sincerlysmallz #facts ♬ original sound – Smallz
